Do You Look Like Your Father?

Have you ever had a moment in your life when something you have never noticed suddenly becomes crystal clear?

I had one of those moments at work the other day.  I work in a building that has many lawyers, bankers, and other professionals also working in it.  We all use the same parking lot.  I had just finished parking my car and happened to be walking with these professionals.  It was at this time, that I began to notice a few differences between us.  They had on very expensive suits, coats, gloves and carried  leather brief cases.  I was dressed in scrubs, tennis shoes, a backpack and carrying a breastfeeding demonstration doll.  There was no doubt that we worked toward different goals.

I laughed at this contrast and comparison.  I love the job that I do, but it made me think of a question.  Is there also this kind of spiritual difference between myself, as a Christian and the world?  Is it obvious to non-Christians that I look different, or do I blend in?  John 15:19 says, "If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you."

Ladies, are there things in your life changing your identity and the way you look?  The more time we spend with the world, the more our identity appears like the world.  Take time out of your busy schedule to spend in God's Word.  Eliminate the things in your life that don't reflect God.  Then, neither you nor the world will be confused about who you look like and belong to.
