Dear Ladies,

My favorite season, multi-colored, multi-scented Fall is beginning to show itself.  Yellow leaves and chilly early mornings are the leaders of more to come.

As mothers we begin to think of warm coats and mittens that will soon be needed and muddy snow boots that dominate the entryways of our home.

Lives have changed since the last coloring of the trees.  Some changes brought a sharp contrast to our lives while others were more subtle.

My mother died. I had to let go, she was gone.

I watched the first drop of marrow blood drip into the tube leading to my grandson's veins.  While he lay in that hospital bed I knew. ..I had to let go.

My father stares into memories, as the pain of loneliness and regret threaten to engulf him.  Will he turn to God?  I practice to let go.

Letting go means what to me?  Obviously He is to be trusted.  Really letting go is beyond just trusting.  Letting go opens the door to the depth of God's work.

We truly can welcome our trials with joy and will mature because of them.  I believe this maturity that He speaks of is not as the world defines it.  Rather, it is an ever-deepening sense of security and calmness in the midst of the spiritual battle.

It is a growing confidence in the strength and good character of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!  (Isaiah 12:2 & 3)

Surely, God is my salvation and I will trust and not be afraid.  The Lord, the Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.  With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

                                                                         Together In Christ
