Hello
Ladies!
I'm really enjoying the Ladies
Bible Study on the book of Philippians. It's such a book of
encouragement. If I were to title it, I think I would say
"Rejoice in the Lord Always." The two words that are
repeated the most are the Lord Jesus and joy (or rejoice). It
seems so timely, as we go into the season of Thanksgiving and
Christmas.
We are in chapter two which
gives us one of Scriptures most wonderful descriptions of Jesus and what
He did for us. When He left Heaven's glories and laid aside His rights
as God, to become a servant to all mankind. One of the things I
enjoy doing in Bible Study is looking up key words in the Greek
dictionary to see their full meaning. Phil. 2:1 has five words
that are so rich- I know I'll have to keep meditating on them. I'd
like to share them with you. This verse says that there are five
things that are true- there is encouragement
from being united with Christ, there is comfort from His love,
there is fellowship
with the Spirit and there is affection
(tenderness) and compassion.
All this is ours because we are
"united with Christ" Do you need encouragement
today? It will come from your relationship with Jesus and will
strengthen and establish you. Do you need comfort in His
love? Please remember that His love is doing what is best for
you. Are you enjoying the fellowship of the spirit by spending
time in God's Work and communion in prayer? It's available!
And Jesus loves you with a deeper affection and compassion than we can
comprehend. What a way to focus on Christmas? What a
privilege to be His child!
